Spring Break: Recap

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Yeah, so it wasn’t as fun-filled as one would have hoped, nor was it quite long enough.

I did make a pair of bellbottoms for a friend, who proceeded to fall and rip them, so I get to make him a second pair (another $30, yay). I also made my non-dress. Also, I overdrew my debit card, didn’t get enough sleep, stayed up until 3 two Fridays in a row, worked on some awesome songs, and didn’t do any crocheting.

Now I owe my school over $2200 for tuition, plus I have to buy books, and it looks like this will be a fairly challenging quarter, but a good one. Wish me luck…

Spring Break

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

School is out, finals are over, the quarter is finished. My evil management class is finally a thing of the past, and I no longer have to worry about getting up in the morning or getting homework done over the weekend. And I don’t start spring quarter until the 30th.

I have a few plans for my break, such as crocheting a scarf, making a pair of bellbottoms for someone (yes, he’s paying me for them!), and creating some sort of long shirt thing. You’ll understand when—if—I finish.

Music—ah, yes. I’m going over to a friend’s house tomorrow and we’re going to bust some funky tunes for a few hours; it’ll be great. As always, I keep creating new songs, but I still don’t have a guitar to record with! So I’m going to end up with lots of songs to choose from come time to release the next album hopefully this summer. I’m definitely adding more rock-oriented works to my repertoire, so those of you who liked that half of RCS can look forward to more and better.

I’m low on cash flow, since I’m having to pay my own way through college. I lost my job in January when the restaurant I worked at closed. I may be looking for a new job over break, but we’ll see. Work in addition to school may be a little tough to handle again. I’ll definitely be looking for employment over the summer though.

So yeah, spring break. Let’s kick this pig.

RCS Website

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

The RCS website underwent a major redesign this past week. I went for a much more minimalist approach with fewer colors and more whitespace. Let me know what you think of the new look, and don’t forget to get the music!

The current RCS server is being provided free of charge, thanks to porb. However, I’m limited in resources there, so I’m looking at getting Warped hosting with unlimited storage and bandwidth. That will cost me about $65 for a year, which is a fantastic deal, but I’m broke because of school. So, if you like my music, feel free to buy the albums or donate a few dollars.

I’m hoping to release a new album sometime this summer. I’ve been working on a slew of new material, ranging from synthpop to noise rock to techno to acoustic. I’ll be putting demos up on the website, so keep checking back for new material.
